Overview
Hendricks Coal LLC is a newly
established coal mining company
based in Charleston, West Virginia,
focused on developing and producing
premium metallurgical coking coal for
domestic and export markets.
The company owns and operates
the Glen Alum metallurgical coal
mining complex located in Mingo and
Logan Counties, West Virginia and
Pike County, Kentucky. Hendricks
currently has five operational mines,
an operational wash plant with annual
capacity of 1.5m tons of clean coal,
and a permitted refuse facility. The
complex has direct access to the
Norfolk Southern Railway through its
100% owned unit loadout facility and
is close to major transport links within
the State.
Reserves
Hendricks controls 22m tons of clean
recoverable coal.
Production
Targeted production for 2011 is
approximately 300,000 clean tons
of mid to high vol metallurgical coal,
increasing to 1.5 million clean tons
per annum by 2013. Hendricks
is able to utilise its current spare
capacity in its washplant to purchase
and process raw coal production from
local operators. With the increasing
production, the company is currently
opening discussions with new
potential offtake partners for spot and
term sales, both in the international
and local markets.
Growth
Hendricks is positioning itself for
increased demand for metallurgical
coal by actively seeking acquisition
opportunities in neighbouring coal
reserves around West Virginia.
